IAC hosted successful annual Christmas Outreach at Hope Plantation Community

The Indian Action Committee (IAC) hosted its annual Christmas Outreach on Sunday, December 23, at the Hope Estate Primary School, East Coast Demerara, which was attended by more than two hundred children from the community of Hope Plantation.

The IAC targeted children between the ages of 4 to 11 years old and especially those of farmers.

The IAC entertained the children with a mixture of Christmas music, while each child received a meal, and was presented with a gift and a goodies bag, by Santa Claus, who in reality is someone from Georgetown.

The IAC wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to Gafoors, De Sinco Trading and Nirva which allowed the organization in its Toy Drive to place marked boxes at these locations, and all those persons who generously dropped off toys in these boxes; and other generous donors who donated toys at the IAC office; and the following sponsors and donors who and which contributed to the tremendous success of the this initiative: NTN TV and 89.1FM; NCN TV and radio stations; E-Networks; MTV; Bakewell for providing all the bread to make sandwiches; Banks DIH Ltd for a number of Icee soft-drinks; DDL Ltd for Soca soft-drinks; CIDI Inc for More juices ; Survival Supermarket for toys; NBS; Edward D Beharry & Co Ltd; Pastry King Bakery; Windsor Estate; El Dorado Trading; Innovative Mining Inc; DD Signs; Royal Chicken Farm; Massy Distribution Guyana Inc; Munaf’s Jewellery; and all the individual donors.

The IAC, in conclusion, also wishes to thank the Regional Education Office of Administrative Region No. 4, and the Head Mistress and Teachers of Hope Estate Primary School for their contributory support to make this event a success.

The IAC, during the last decade, has brought joy and happiness to thousands of less fortunate children from all ethnic backgrounds and from all different religious backgrounds at its previous Christmas Parties and will continue  this tradition as long as the organization remains in existence.
